PRODUCT DESCRIPTION benaGene® is stabilized oxaloacetic acid, a human metabolite and an intermediate in the Kreb’s cycle involved in the production of cellular energy. benaGene® increases the conversion of coenzymes NADH to NAD+ and influences the quantity of usable energy and critical signaling molecules. Recent animal research has shown that supplementation with oxaloacetate provides beneficial effects that mimic those obtained from caloric restriction, the only method shown to increase lifespan. Studies also confirmed both reduction in glucose levels and an improved uptake of glucose without negative side effects. Furthermore, oxaloacetate supplements may help reduce blood sugar levels and in doing so assist with weight loss; benaGene® appears to down regulate pathways that create and store fat. Mitochondrial and cellular DNA damage is thought to exacerbate aging and benaGene® has been shown to protect and repair animal DNA.   AOR ADVANTAGE benaGene® is exclusively available in Canada from AOR and was introduced in 2007. It provides a therapeutic dose of oxaloacetate, along with vitamin C for added stability, in a convenient dose of just one capsule per day.   Serving Size: 1 capsule Medicinal Ingredients: Vitamin C 100 mg benaGene® (3-carboxy-3-oxopropanoic acid) 100 mg Non-medicinal Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium stearyl fumarate, silicon dioxide. Capsule: hypromellose. Adult Dosage: Take one capsule daily with food, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. Do not crush, mix, or blend capsules. Swallow the capsules whole.
