PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Licorice root has been used for thousands of years in Eastern medicine for its soothing and decongestant properties. Today, the benefits of licorice have been identified in its ability to soothe gastric ulcers, irritable bowel, and acid reflux. It may also inhibit the growth of H. pylori, a bacterium often responsible for ulcers and heartburn symptoms. Unfortunately, licorice also contains compounds that can increase blood pressure, namely glycerrhizinic and glycerrhetinic acids. DGL760 contains deglycyrrhizinated licorice, a licorice extract that does not contain these compounds and is safe for those who are concerned about its blood pressure-raising effects.
