Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a long-chain fatty acid produced naturally by the body, but is also found in foods such as egg yolk, soybean and sunflower oils. This molecule, studied for its unique and broad range of health benefits for eighty years, is now receiving increased attention due to its crucial role in the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a communication network that maintains cellular homeostasis, particularly when tissues are damaged, inflamed, or injured.
