Suggested Use: 1 to 2 capsules twice daily, or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner. Can be taken with or without food.
Cautions: Ingestion of iodine and/or iodide has been associated with heart palpitations, acne-like skin lesions, headache in the frontal sinus cavities, and unpleasant brassy taste, as well as increased salivation and sneezing. Some sensitive individuals may not tolerate high doses of iodine, even when clinically indicated. Iodine supplementation indirectly stimulates TSH production which increases the absorption of iodine into the thyroid gland. While Iodine Px may cause a transient increase of TSH, it simultaneously maintains healthy thyroid hormone levels in most patients, unless the patient is hypothyroid. High doses of iodine, administered to a small subsection of patients with Hashimoto's Disease, have been found to potentially aggravate the disease. In these cases where T4 levels drop, discontinue use. Iodine Px is not a replacement for thyroid hormone therapy.
