Description
Quick oat flakes consist of hulled whole oat groats that have been pressed by large rollers into small, flat flakes. They are slightly toasted for stabilization and to preserve freshness. They are a creamy yellow-white to a light brown colour, and may contain a few hulls.

Hulled oat groats.
Directions
Stir 1/3 cup flakes into 1 cup boiling water. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Uses
Oat flakes can be used to make a hot cereal (porridge), cold cereals (such as muesli or granola), and also desserts or other baked goods.
Storage
When stored in a cool (preferably less than 60˚F) and dry location (less than 65% humidity), shelf life is approximately 1 year.
