Description
Engevita® Yeast is characterized by its mild, nutty, and toasted savoury flavour. Engevita® is such a pleasant tasting yeast that it can be consumed by itself or as an ingredient in vegetarian foods, pâtés, or sauces. It is also readily dissolved in water, milk, fruit, or vegetable juices and can be sprinkled on popcorn, soups, stews, casseroles, salads, and breakfast cereals to enhance flavour.
The Engevita® Yeast is cultivated on beet molasses and unlike the nutritional yeast flakes, this yeast is not fortified and comes in a powdery form.
Directions
For a vegan popcorn topping mix, 2 tablespoons of Engevita® Yeast into 4 tablespoons plant-based butter and a pinch of salt before mixing it with freshly popped corn.
Uses
- Sprinkle it on popcorn to add a savoury and nutty flavour
- Use it to make a vegan “cheese” sauce
- Sprinkle it on roasted vegetables or potatoes to enhance flavour
- Add it to your plant-based burger and meatloaf dishes to add umami notes
- Mix it into scrambled eggs for a boost of savoury flavour
Storage
If stored in a sealed container, in dry and clean conditions, with temperatures up to 15˚C, this product is stable for 10 months.
